We grew by connecting Adventist medical-student communities across the Philippines. Our network story begins with regional organizations and continues today through chapters, school trustees, and campus connections.
HOW THE NETWORK GREW
From three regional communities to a nationwide student network.
Our 2023 WITNESS issue records that AMSN-PH began in November 2017 with LSAMS, CAMSA, and ISAMS. AMiCUS-UNP joined us in July 2018, followed by DSAMS during our fourth year, extending our community across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Our story has always extended beyond formal chapter lines. We continue meeting Adventist medical students in other schools and regions through school trustees, representatives, and new campus connections.

LSAMS
Luzon Society of Adventist Medical Students
LSAMS was one of the three regional organizations with us when AMSN-PH began in November 2017. Our history places AUP-MEDS (Adventist University of the Philippines – Medical Evangelists Dedicated for Service) within the Luzon network.
The community embraces the calling of physician missionaries who bring healing and wholeness—an expression of how we unite medicine and mission.
The 2023 issue featured the Luzon chapter through physician stories and medical-school reflections, preserving examples of devotional discipline, campus ministry, Sabbath faithfulness, and service alongside academic life.

CAMSA
Cebu Adventist Medical Students Association
CAMSA helped form our original national structure in 2017 and represents our Cebu medical-student community.
In our chapter feature, CAMSA reflects Sabbath faithfulness, spiritual fellowship, service, and a strong enthusiasm for medical missions.
Dr. Evzel Rosqwyn Baldoza’s CAMSA feature connected medicine with family, music ministry, sports, and medical missions—showing a chapter culture where faith and whole-person development are part of the medical journey.
ILOILO

ISAMS
Iloilo Society of Adventist Medical Students
ISAMS is our Iloilo-based society and joined LSAMS and CAMSA as one of AMSN-PH’s three founding regional organizations.
The society seeks to become more like the Great Physician and has contributed music, prayer, fellowship, and fundraising support to our national activities.
The 2023 issue featured Dr. Denise Jann Agum, a Central Philippine University graduate, including her experience advocating for Sabbath accommodation during internship—an example of faith lived within a non-Adventist medical environment.

AMiCUS-UNP
Adventist Ministry to College & University Students — University of Northern Philippines
AMiCUS-UNP joined us in July 2018, widening our reach into Northern Luzon and connecting the University of Northern Philippines’ Adventist student ministry with our medical-student network.
AMiCUS-UNP is a broader campus ministry rather than a medical-only society, while playing an important role in connecting Adventist medical students at UNP with us.
Dr. David Calibuso II’s feature reflects the UNP experience: choosing a medical school compatible with Sabbath convictions, growing from a student into a compassionate future physician, and crediting God, family, mentors, and teachers for the journey.
DAVAO
JOINED DURING AMSN-PH’S 4TH YEAR • 2021
DSAMS
Davao Society of Adventist Medical Students
DSAMS joined us during our fourth year under the leadership of Marc Philip Ocoma, extending our chapter alliance into Mindanao.
Our WITNESS stories connect the group with Davao Medical School Foundation and preserve the experiences of students who supported one another in faith through demanding medical training.
Drs. Marie Anthonette Mencidor-Nañez and Jibeth Mudanza were featured together, reflecting on friendship centered on God, spiritual growth, and moments of ministry with patients through prayer and music.
THE NETWORK TODAY
Beyond the original five.
Our established chapters remain an important part of who we are, but our network does not stop at old chapter boundaries. Adventist medical students may be studying in schools without an established local society or in areas not previously represented.
Through school trustees and campus representatives, we can bridge that gap, share AMSN-PH opportunities, welcome interested students through privacy-respecting outreach, and help new local communities grow.
